Half a day does not sound long enough for an HtR Career Guidance / Outplacement Consultant to be able to impart enough knowledge, ideas, and suggestions, to really help an individual, but it really is...
What do we include in the Half Day Session? Well that is up to the individual being helped.
For those seeking Career Guidance - we may cover job seeking activity, self marketing, or help in quite specific areas such as how to handle and behave in Assessment Centres.
For those seeking more general Outplacement Support - we would look to cover areas such as:
- Reviewing their CV, Application Covering Letters, Tailoring a CV to different job types
- Job Hunting - Where to look, How to help yourself, How to use the Internet
- Interview Preparation and ‘Self Analysis’
- Interview Technique and Guidance including handling ‘difficult’ interview questions
- Self Employment (if of interest)
But what out Consultant covers really does depend on the individual. Although we would look to cover some of what we regard as the ‘basics’ - were the individual to be terrible in interview - that is where we would focus our attention. We would run through standard and difficult interview questions showing how to predict questions and prepare answers. Also how to present themselves in the most positive of ways.
Our service overall is also very ‘practically’ based with example exercises that can be reviewed.
To further support this session we provide to the individual a practical ‘Job Seekers Guide’ which covers all the areas they should focus upon, and a good foundation to build upon.
Sessions last 3.5 hours and are delivered within 5 working days of purchase, held locally in a Regus Business Centre.
